Yello, yep, I am still around

And it is going great. Unbelievably great, so great, that I figure that before we say hello to December, I might actually be able to post a magical number on that "the K's I have shed page". It's been tough, but it is summer, and I am swimming every night, I am eating well, I have had the odd obstacle, the odd party, and the odd relapse cheese burger. 95% of it has been great though, I am doing really well, I so want to tell you where I am weight loss wise, but I can't, I promised myself when I enter my weight again, it will be to numbers, a point, and that is it, if that is 99.9 than I will be 99.9% happy. When I first started blogging and toying with the idea of loosing weight that was the number. Get your ass down to 99.9kg's, then well reboot and pick a new target. I was at 114.7kg's when I decided to make 99.9kg's a target. Many beers, burgers, workouts and blowouts and more than a year later, I am not far off, it is reachable, so reachable that I can get there within this month. I know I haven't been blogging much, but I have been reading a few of yours religiously. To Josh, over at 700 Pounds is as bad as it sounds. Thanks for the inspiration, it led to perspiration, which led to weight loss. To Natalie, at path to petite. Thanks for also struggling, also juggling a billion things, also living life and getting it done. You guys kept me going. It's weird, I am a popular guy, with a lot of friends, but to me this weight loss thing is very personal, and it's nice to share it with all of the people that read my blog. Here is no masks, no excuses, and just the truth. I wont blog again until I get to my 99.9kgs. SO here is hoping that I will be back soon, in the meantime, keep on going on.

The week in review - it's been great

It's been the most healthy, active, great workout week that I have had in the last 10 years. Hand down. Easy.

I worked in 3 Cross Fit sessions. All 3 were hectic, and left me terribly sore. I did 500 rope skips last night. I am feeling sore and tired and achy and excited and proud all at the same time.

I ate great, and I mean really great. I drank lots of water, I had no sugars, I was a machine this week.

82 DAYS

That's what's left in my own little 100 day challenge. If I have another 82 days like the last 5 than I will be a mean, lean, fighting machine come 11 December.

Weigh in time on Monday morning. I am looking forward to it and I am super excited. I know I lost weight these first 18 days. I just don't know how much. I am deliberately leaving the weigh in till Monday morning in the hope that it will help me behave this weekend and hopefully work in another workout or two and eat clean.

It's happening.

See you on Monday.

Have a great weekend.

CROSSFIT AND PROGRESS

As promised, I did my first Cross Fit Workout last night. So here is some feedback.

When we arrived and I saw the program, I honestly figured that it would be a breeze. We did the following in 1 minute reps with 1 minute rests in between each exercise. he idea was to do 5 sets of each.

We started off with 12 minutes on the spinning bikes, and then:

  1. Lunges - 60 seconds of lunging to 90 degrees and back up, there is no resistance, only body weight.
  2. Followed by 60 seconds rest.
  3. Push ups - as many as you can do in 60 seconds.
  4. Followed by 60 seconds rest.
  5. Box Jumps - you basically jump onto a box that's about knee high for 60 seconds.
  6. Followed by 60 seconds rest.
  7. Weight Lifting - 60 seconds of lifting a 20kg bar from chest to overhead.
  8. Followed by 60 seconds rest.
  9. Dumbbell Swings - 60 seconds of swinging a 10 kg kettle ball from the floor to chest height.
And that was that, I managed 3 sets of each. I am properly sore today, but it is a good sore.

Eating is going brilliantly, and I will start taking some protein shakes to help with recovery.

I am now signed on to do 3 sessions a week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Looking forward to it actually, and hoping to do some cardio and light weight training on my own on the off days.

It's going good!

SOME FEEDBACK

Well, the 100 days challenge is going pretty well. I am still feeling a little snotty, but much better than on Monday. Here is the big news then, I have signed on to do Crossfit from Monday. I am looking forward to it, and I am also sacred shitless. I am joining my wife and another couple from Monday night. She is excited as it is something we can do together, and I am excited because I have seen the massive amount of weight people have lost doing Crossfit. So from Monday I'll be going balls to the wall for the rest of the 100 day challenge.

Really looking forward to the weekend, the Boks play the All Blacks on Saturday morning and I have a good pals bachelor party from 15:00 on Saturday afternoon. Friday night we have a birthday party I just remembered now, so it's a busy weekend.

Food wise it's going okay. It's not great. It will go much better once I start training Monday, I tend to be able to keep my diet in check much easier when I work out. I think it is a bit of a guilt thing I put myself on. Like, you just sweated your ass off for 40 minutes, why would you eat that double cheese burger, chips and milkshake now and waste that whole workout. When I don't workout it's as if I am thinking that I have done nothing anyway, might as well eat that burger you fat ass burger lover, and then you will feel better, and be healthy again tomorrow. Sorry I rambled there a bit, hope it makes sense!

So, I'll be checking in and letting you know how the Crossfit thing went down, I figure I will probably go down, anyhoo, no pain no gain right?

REPORT TIME

So, 7 days gone, 93 to go.

Monday and Tuesday went well. Wednesday also went quite well, we went out for dinner with friends and I had a steak and some veg. No fries for this guy!

Thursday went well, I had a small piece of garlic bread but otherwise it was all good.

Friday night a buddy and his wife came to visit, we ended up drinking way to many whiskeys and I had about 3 pizza slices.

Saturday I had a few beers with the rugby. It's not like I can drink water while we smashed the Wallabies! Had a wrap for dinner and were pretty healthy during the week.

Yesterday I had some chicken and veg. The in laws joined us for lunch and I had some ice cream for dessert.

All and all it could have gone much worse this first week.

I am still pretty sick and all the dust hanging around the house while we are building are really not helping my sinus issues!

Here's what I am aiming for this week:

  • HYDRATE - keep on drinking water
  • EAT - have some more foods during the day
  • SWEAT - walk, gym, I must get my heart rate up at least 5 times in the next 7 days.
  • BLOG - I need to keep track
Hope you all have a great week!

DAY 2

Day 2 report

Well, yesterday was day 1 of my 100 days challenge. And food wise I had a great day. I had more than 2 litres of water. Future Life for breakfast, a 3 egg omelette for lunch, some biltong during the day, and a nice salad of tomatoes, a bit of feta and cucumber for dinner.

I could not work out as my and the wife are both down with the flu, I am feeling a little better today, so I am hoping to do some cardio and gym work tonight.

If you feel like you need inspiration or a good cry, head on over here.

Josh,

That is one of the greatest posts I have read, ever, in my life, ever, and will probably be one the greatest posts I read in my life, ever.

I will be blogging about that post and you're story soon. Well done son!

I'll check back tomorrow, have a great Tuesday!

100 DAYS - Let's do this

Yep, I know I put some things down that I want to do yesterday. Blog More, eat healthy, exercise, loose weight, all the usual.

Then I started playing around with dates, and found out that if I start my journey on Monday, the 2nd of September, and go on for 100 days, I will be done on my wedding anniversary, the 10th of December 2013.

So there it is, it is 100 days to blog more, do more, loose more, get fit and get healthy.

I will do my best to blog more about the journey, and to see how much I can loose, and to turn my lifestyle around.

In other news, we are renovating our house, which is nice, we are building an exterior wall and taking down the palisades. Painting the house, and renovating a few things. We are using the old palisades to make 2 separate enclosures, so that we can give our garden a break form the dogs and also get that looking pretty. The dogs are going mad with all the painters and builders around the house, and hopefully they can finish up within three weeks.

I played some golf yesterday, it was nice summer like weather and a really nice round. I can see that I have not been playing much though! It was still fun, I did realise that I really do need to work out more as I am pretty unfit and got tired with about 4 holes left, which really did not help my already struggling round!

The wife and a friend has taking up cross fit, she seems to be enjoying it but complained big time this morning of a sore everything, especially legs. I still envy her drive and motivation. Hopefully I can also get on that band wagon.

Well, that's that for August then, Sunday is September, spring time, and time to make the change.

It's 100 days,

Let's to this!

SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER - NOVEMBER - Slimmer, Fitter, December

Yep, Here I go again...another month, another challenge, another blog post, another way to get myself in shape!

HERE'S THE RULES:

  1. Weigh in once a week
  2. Blog at least once a week
  3. Loose weight
  4. Get Fit
That's it, I will stick to my low carb plans, eat better, train more and smarter, and let's see how much I can shed in 3 months.

I figure that if I really go for it, it might be quite a lot, not 20kg's a lot, but a minimum if 12.

I will do the weigh in tomorrow.

I will blog more.

I will loose some more.

The summer is coming.

Let's do this.

Anyone joining?

REUNION TIME - BUSY/EXCUSES

That is what's been happening. Too busy, Too many excuses. Yep, it has been a hectic few weeks. Lots of meetings, a few memorable hunting trips which stocked my freezer nicely with heaps of protein - biltong & droewors and chillibites to be exact. It has been fun, it has been relaxing, and it has seen me pick up weight and overindulging big time. This weekend it's my 10 year high school reunion. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and having a few beers with old school mates. Thinking back I realised the me of ten years ago would be pretty pissed off with my current state of affairs.

Here's what I know would bother him:

  • You are a smoker - 10 years ago me hated smoking, he was way to fit and active to partake in such nonsense.
  • You are a Fat ass - I now weigh 25kg's more then 10 years ago me. 10 years ago me would kick my ass.
  • You are unfit - 10 years ago me did 5 Cape Argus Cycle Tours - and two of those in just over 3 hours. He played rugby, he swam provincially, he could easily do a 10km run, he played squash, tennis, did athletics, cricket, and any other sport. He was as fit as he could possible be.
Here's what might please him:

  • Hell yeah - You married a blond hottie - well done son.
  • You have a proper job.
  • You are earning good money.
  • You bought a house.
  • You have a fucking huuuuuge flat screen.
  • You seem very happy - fatness and all.
I grew up a lot in 10 years, both mentally and obviously physically!

I am proud of where I am today, but I wont to please 10 years ago me again, for him, for myself.

I was a very tough competitor, I was fit, I hated loosing, I had so much fun and energy.

I will get there again, one kilogram at a time.

I am challenging myself...again

I like setting myself some challenges, so here goes another one.

I have realised again that I won't be having a obligation free month soon, and that I have to work around my social, work and other obligations if I want to succeed.

The following month is pretty relaxed with only a hunting trip this Thursday to Sunday - the rest will be pretty relaxed and there are not to many parties on the horizon.

I will call this the 8 - 8 Challenge, as I will be doing it from the 8th of July until the 8th of August.

I have decided to use everything I have learned on my diet journey, and rather than googling a new diet and workout plan, I have created my own, and I will stick to these rules and see what happens in the next month.

Here is what I want to do:

  • 5 Cardio sessions of at least 35 minutes from Monday to Sunday
I got up this morning, it was very cold, I did a nice 35 minute walk/jog. I will do this 5 times a week, and hopefully I can get to more jogging and less walking soon.

  • 4 weight/gym Workouts from Monday to Sunday
I have a very nice home gym, I have free weights, I have balance balls, I have a bench press, I will do 4 of these sessions per week. Not only does weight workouts really get me sweating, but I also tend to loose more weight when I do weight training.

  • Drink Water
I know I loose weight when I drink water, I will drink water, this is probably the easiest of all the rules I am setting myself.

  • Go Low Carb High Protein
The only times I have really lost weight and kept it off was when I went low carb high protein. If I can cut out the white breads/pastas etc. I know I will loose weight.

  • Eat Breakfast
I don't do breakfast, I will now, even if it is just a bowl of FutureLife in the mornings.

  • Cut the Sugars
No fuzzy drinks, no sweeteners, no cheating.

  • Protein Shakes
Not every day, but every now and again as a meal replacement. It fills me up big time, and definitely helps with recovery after a tough workout. I will stick to USN dietfuel mostly, but may have a protein shake every now and again

  • Blog More
I want to make more time for blogging, and I will do my best to do so during this month.

That is it, I will be posting my starting weight tomorrow morning and let's see what happens during the month.

Hope you all have a good week.

the going is tuff, but the tuff gets going

I am battling, but I am still surviving. Have not done a weigh in and have a massive cold. I am hoping to recover soon, would like to go running again on Thursday. Everything else is going good. I have a nice long weekend to look forward to at the in-laws farm. It is about a 3 hour drive, and we will be chilling from Friday and only coming back on Monday, which is a public holiday. My wife bought me the coolest present ever, a Garmin Forerunner 310XT. I am charging it now, but will definitely be using it. It comes with all kinds of goodies, including a heart rate monitor, which I am pretty chuffed about. It also has GPS and all the other features. It's a pretty amazing training companion if I go by what those who have one say on the interwebs.

So I am away from home this weekend, and next weekend I am heading to Joburg on Friday with some friends for a high speed driving experience on Kyalami, and then we will watch the Boks play on Saturday at Loftus. I'll probably stay behind and attend a meeting in Jozi that I heard about yesterday. So I should be coming back on Tuesday. I have not really had a chill out weekend in 6 weeks, so I am looking forward to the weekend of the 28th!

I will pack my running shoes and make sure I get some training done at least 3 times a week, I think it will be nice to run in different scenery and in a different location for a change.

Have a good Tuesday!

It's getting easier...and harder

So today I did 4.5km of 3 min running 3 min walking, at one hell of a pace. It was by far the hardest workout I have done in the last 5 years. The legs are hurting, but I got through it, although we changed it up to walk 200m run 200m for the last kilo and a half, I was just way to far gone to continue on that 3 min pace. I feel good, and it has been a hectic morning at work. Although my legs feel busted I definitely have a lot more energy. I weighed in at 104kg's this morning, so it is coming off slowly, it is only 4.1kg's to that magical 99.9kg's mark. And I am super excited, it's all good.

Food wise it is going way better than expected. I think working out makes me think twice about what I eat, I have not had any carbs, and I am having some salads, meats, etc. I have been doing good with my water consumption.

Going on a bit of a guys trip this weekend, but more on that tomorrow. Normally I screw up food and drinks wise on these weekends, but I think this time it may be a different story.

See you tomorrow,

FMM - Summer Fun

If you’ve taken part in FMM then you know the rules. If you’re new, please take a moment to answer this week’s question on your own blog then add your link in the comments section here and over at: www.alltheweigh.com so we can all see your FMM questions and answers. Please invite your blog readers to add their links here too so everyone has to opportunity to be seen. The idea is to connect with other awesome bloggers so take a moment to post your own FMM post and comment on a couple of other posts. Now it’s time for this week’s topic!

Summer fun you say, summer has completely gone bye bye here in a normally very sunny South Africa, and only a few minutes ago I posted about the cold front moving in. So thank you to the creators of FMM of reminding me of the greatness of the greatest season, summer...

Summer Fun

1. What is your favourite summer fruit?

Mango's, followed by Prime Seedless grapes.

2. Do you know how to swim?

Hell yes, I spent a alarming time of summer in my pool, or the river, or on skies, or on a boat.

3. Do you prefer sun or snow?

I live in one of the hottest towns in the Southern hemisphere, definitly the hottest town in South Africa. I love the sun, I would make love to the sun and make little baby sun's if possible.

4. What temperature do you like most inside your home?

I like it to be cold, 17 degrees Celsius mostly.

5. Is it humid where you live?

Nope, it is dry heat, the best kind, I was in Thailand six months ago, and that was like walking in jelly.

6. What is your favourite food to put on the grill?

Steak, boerewors, chicken, ribs ( beef or pork ), pineapples, bananas, bread, if I can eat it, I will grill it, favourite will be nice and rare rump steaks, or regular chops.

7. Do you prefer to wear a one-piece or two-piece swim suit?

I would look pretty terrible in a two piece, so normally just board shorts.

8. What is your favourite summer drink?

Beer, Castle Lite. J&B and water

9. Do you prefer the pool or the ocean?

            The river....

10. What are you looking forward to most over the summer?

I am looking forward to the winter passing, and then getting back on the river, and in the pool.

Thanks to Chris Barnes for reminding me of friend making Monday!

It's freezing

This day started out great, but a huge cold front is moving in, so we will be making some of this tonight, again. I still don't know why this tastes so good, and it always fills me up, even if I leave the noodles and just have the soup. Anyhow, it's been a busy but productive Monday. I had some oats for lunch and will have that soup for dinner. Looking forward to it. I have had enough water today, and I might work a little gym session in tonight. Tomorrow morning we are having another big workout so maybe I'll just do some light free weights.

I'll give you an update tommorow!

THIS IS THE START I NEEDED TO THIS WEEK

Welcome to the 22nd week of the year, they seem to be flying by! This morning, I truly did not want to get out of bed, my alarm went off at 5:10, so that we can start our run/walk at 5:30. I did get up, and I did go out, and I did another 40 minutes of run/walk. My legs are hurting, but I am feeling super. The feeling you get after a good workout is great, and I am hoping it stays this way, Progress is being made. I am loosing weight, I have not been back on the scale but will be soon, I will weigh 99kg's again very soon, the first time in at least 6 years. It is happening, I am moving forward. This is life, and it is great.

Stay Classy World,

Update time - running is not easy...at all

It's going great, I forgot how great you feel after a workout. This morning we did 5 x 2 min jogs with 3 minute walks in between. Was not easy, and I suffered big time, but I managed to get it done, so that is another good 30 minute heavy cardio session done. The eating is going well, I am limiting portions, and had a great day yesterday food wise. I also got about 2 l of water in so I am very happy. Started the morning with a nice bowl of Future Life. I am hoping to shed some more weight fast, it can only make this running business easier! I'm happy, and it is going good.

Hope all of you are doing great too!

hitting the road

So after a few months of laying around and chillaxing way to much, we had a nice big braai on Friday. Me and my wife went for drinks after work, and on our way home a fellow tabler phoned to ask if we want to come by for a quick drink. Needless to say we ended up having more than a quick drink, and a few shooters, and a lekker braai. This guy is 40 years old, weighs about 105kg's and have done 3 Ironmans and a comrades. He is also completely out of shape at the moment. So we got talking about training, loosing weight, and how out of shape we are. Then the challenge was set. My wife dared me to do a half marathon on the 27th of September. In my intoxicated state, I accepted, so that was that. I was in Cape Town from Sunday so our training started today. We did 4km, I actually feel pretty good, we probably walked 80% of the time, but still, I was active from 5:30 this morning for a good 30 minutes. It feels awesome, there are training plans coming, and it is great to do it with 2 friends, of which one has done this kind of stuff before, but the other is in the same boat is me. So here I go again, I am amped, and hopefully I will be doing that half marathon in September. And let's hope the weight melts off.

Chicken Noodle Soup - The only good thing about having the flu

With flu having completely taken over my household, the only good thing to come out of it has been a very nice, chicken noodle soup. It makes you feel good for a while, is nice and hot, and very nourishing.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 Cans creamed corn.
  • 2 Cans regular corn (drained)
  • 1.5l chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ginger ( freshly grated if possible)
  • 3 onions peeled and roughly chopped
  • 4 chicken breasts chopped into cubes
  • Noodles - as much as you like
All of this goes into a large casserole or saucepan. At once, let it boil for about 5 minutes, then simmer for another 5, check that the chicken is done, simmer for as long as you like, you can enjoy immediately, freeze it, have it whenever. I promise you will feel better and less flu -y for the few minutes your drinking, eating this soup.

L8r,

here's a status update

Yep, I am still around. It has been a very, very hectic dew weeks. Weddings, parties, work commitments and much more. And I am off to Cape Town on Friday and only returning on Wednesday next week. The diet side of things aren't as good as they should be, but I have not fallen off the waggon completely. My exercise routine is pretty well non existent though. To make matters worse, the wife and I are both struggling with a nasty flu. And winter has arrives, and the monrings are getting proper cold now. I have not been on the scale in quite a while, but will do a weigh in and update accordingly. Still a lot to loose, still a lot of running and gymming to be done. I am still here, it's still happening. We must do what we must, but we must also live life, and I have been doing a whole lot of living life lately!

I am still here

It is going all right. I still have not got back on the scale, I promised I would not before I felt like I weighed less than a 100 kg's. I do not feel it yet. I have overeaten a few times, and things has just been incredibly hectic, at work and at home. It is no excuse for not getting time in at the gym, or going for a swim, or eating better. What I can say, is that I am so used to eating better, that I do make healthy choices most of the time. I am getting back into the swing of things, and I have promised myself I will do everything possible to get below 100kg's before the end of this month. It is very possible, very doable, and my first weigh in will be at the end of the month. So, it is back to work for me. Although I have not blogged in a while, I have enjoyed reading about your trials, Revelations, successes and failures. In the end we are all human, we will all slip up, but we won't all get back up again.

Have a good one,

W

I am still around

It's been a hectic few weeks. Apart from my joburg business trip, we headed down to Cape Town on Friday for a quick holiday and a wedding. It was a great trip, but very exhausting. We had a bday dinner, a lot of bad foods, and way to much drinks. It was good fun though, and now I am back. Will tackle the gym again, will eat well again, will loose some more weight again. I still haven't weighed myself again, as I promised myself I will only do green postings on that page. So it might be a week or so before I get on the scale again, but I want it to be a green number so bad! I don't think I have picked up a lot, but I don't think I have really lost any. In fairness, it doesn't really bother me. I lives, I ate, i laughed, and I had a great time. I still had a billion calories less than I would normally have, I am still making good conscious decisions. I am getting there. Live goes on, and we need to live it. It's all good.

UPDATE TIME

Sorry I ave been MIA the last few days! I had to go to Jozi for a meeting or two. It was good fun, but my diet regime did suffer. The hotel had a gym, and I managed to make it there once. Otherwise, I ate too much, drank to much, and was behaving badly overall on the diet front. Still, I skipped the breads at breakfast, and the pastries. I feel like I might have picked up some weight, I am hoping it wasn't much. I have decided I am only getting back on the scale somewhere after the 20th of this month. I would hate to put a red weigh in on my page. So have some more time to make sure it will be green. The wife and I are also off to Cape Town for a quick holiday and a friends wedding. So lots of temptation, and I will have to make sure I keep working out and eating right. I need to loose weight, I need to live life, and I need to find that lifestyle balance. I am getting there!

what i am eating

Well, people are starting to notice I am losing weight. And it is bloody marvellous! A friend asked me what I ate, which is why I am doing this blog post.

BREAKFAST

I have never been a fan of breakfast. Alas, after much research, you really need to put something in your body to restore your sugar levels, and to get your metabolism going. I get up, and I am doing weight training 10 minutes later - you do loose more weight training on an empty stomach - and then, right after my workout, I have breakfast. I have used USN's Diet Fuel before, and it worked a charm, review here. I have now changed to USN pure protein. I have the vanilla, it's sweet and easy to get down. It definitely helps with my recovery, and it leaves me feeling full until around 12.

SNACK 12 ish

I have a small serving of oats, either plain, or with a little milk, or with a bit of peanut butter.

LUNCH

Either 2 fruits or some weet bix

SNACK 4 ish

A piece of watermelon, an apple, some more oats if I need it.

DINNER

Eggs - scrambled, omelette's, poached, 3 eggs - with something healthy, a salad, some tuna, whatever.

This seems to be working for me, I am loosing weight, most of all I am energised.

I also have a multivitamin every day.

I drink a bucket load of water, usually 3 litres.

I am loosing weight.

I am energised.

I feel good.

99 is not far now!

LOOKING BACK

On the 2nd of May 2012, I set myself some targets. I stumbled on them today, and figured I would see where I was at the moment.

Here is 11 things I really want to do, be able to say, by the 12 month:

1. I reached my target weight – 89.9 kg’s.
This is the big goal, this is what I am here for, this is what I will do.

Well, this is the big one, I am getting there, but I am not near there yet. I would still love to be able to say this before the 12th month!

2. I have quit smoking – for good – for ever.
I have tried many a time, I have read about people quitting when they start to exercise as you really don’t feel like it – I hope I will be one of those people.

Getting there...

3. I can run a half marathon.
I never was much of a runner, I was a good cyclist and swimmer – this is something I figure I could do – I have 6 months to get there. Tomorrow will be an early morning!

Nowhere close, but, I will do this before the 12th month.

4. Get my waist below 100cm.
I’m currently at 132cm, it should be 94cm, if I am below 100, I would be happy!

I have not measured my waist in a while, I know I am not at 132 anymore, but I know I am not below 100 either.

5. Get rid of most of my pills.
I drink a wide array of pills, for all kinds of stuff, losing weight and quitting smoking should get me of a few. – More on this later.

This one I am proud to say I am very close to achieving.

6. Never diet – ever.
I don’t want to loose weight, and put it on again, I want to keep it off, lifestyle change – not fad diet change.

I am getting this one right. I am going low carb, and it's a lifestyle, not a diet.

7. Be committed
To keep loosing weight, keep running/swimming/cycling/going to gym.

I am more committed than ever. Winning

8. Get positive.
I can be depressed – sometimes. I am no fun then, I don’t need that.

I have heaps of stuff to sort out, but I am more committed than ever.

9. Appreciate my wife, more
I love her to death, she does a whole lot of shit I take for granted.

I am loosing this battle, and need to appreciate her about 6 times as much as stated in May last year!

10. Enjoy work
I spend half my life there – it should be more fun.

Work is a billion times better than May last year, it's going good, I am enjoying it.

11. Be exited about getting up.
Not everyday, just a whole lot more days.

Yep, this one I can tick off, I still hate getting up early to get in the gym, but once I am there, it's all worth it.

I am hoping that by December I can say I have done everything I have set my mind to, lost the weight I wanted to loose, and be the happy guy I deserve to be.

PROGRESS

I am working out, I am eating better, I am feeling well, I am married to a superstar, I am losing weight, 104.7kg's it is. It is less than 5 to go to be in the 90's. That is a place I haven't been at in at least 6 years. I will get there. Sooner rather than later.

Life is good.
Have a good week.

FMM - INTERESTING THINGS

I haven't done a FMM in a while, thanks Chris Barnes for reminding me!

So here goes:

1. What is the last movie you saw in a theatre?

Les Miserables - Very long, very good, I enjoy musicals, wife hated it. It should win a few Oscars. It's epic.

2. How old were you when you had your first kiss?

I was 11, it was in a school concert, I was the prince, I honestly can't remember my princesses name. I just remember we never kissed in rehearsals, but had to when we were doing the actual play. My friends didn't let me off easily!

3. Share the coolest thing that you’ve done so far in 2013.

Had a huge new years party, and saw the sun rise on Jan 1st.

4. What kind of cell phone do you use? Do you love it?

Ive got an Iphone 4s - it's the best electronic gadget, in the world, ever.

5. How many times do you plan to workout this week?

I plan on doing 5 weight sessions and 5 cardio sessions.

6. What is your favourite movie from the 80′s?

There's a Zulu on my stoep. It's still funny now. Watch it.

7. If you could choose one character from a TV show or a movie to fall head over heels for you, who would it be?

Louwna from Egoli when she was in her prime!

8. If you could eat one food everyday for the rest of your life without gaining any weight as a result, what would you choose?

Hot dogs - all varieties - boerewors rolls proffered.

9. What is your favourite flower?

Roses

10. Did you watch the Golden Globes last night?

Nope, hate award shows, they bore me to death.

Till next time!

GOALS FOR 2013

1.  Weigh 89.9 kg's.

I am at 107.8 kg's - that is 17.9 kilo's I want to drop. That is 1.49kg per month. That is 0.4 kg's per week. That is possible - This I can do, hopefully way before the end of this year.

2. Quit Smoking

For good, and I will have to, if I want to reach the rest of my goals.

3. Run a Half Marathon

I have got a year to do it, I would love to do this sooner rather than later.

4. Loose the belly

I'll be running, I'll be training, I'll better be loosing the belly.

5. Blog more

I enjoy blogging, I enjoy sharing, I want to track my progress, I will blog more.

6. Don't diet - ever.

I am losing weight going high protein, low carb. I don't want to diet, ever again. This is a lifestyle, I want to follow it.

That's the basics then, the first six, I will keep adding them as necessary. By the end of the year I would love to have these ticked, and the rest that I'll be adding.

Please add yours in the comments section, and thanks to Chris Barnes for the idea.
